Mom and I really had WAY too much fun camping. It was great to just relax and be silly, and be outdoors. It's one of our favorite things to do, always has been. :)
No one has any idea how much we needed this little side-trip into R&R...it was the best birthday EVER! I feel totally rejuvenated, and ready to take on just about anything, now.
It's an experience that everyone should have at least once in their life. But definitely go with a seasoned camping-type person, or the whole thing could be really rotten....not to scare you off or anything!
It's really fun, and it's best to pretend that you are a pioneer woman, because you get gross and grimey and smelly. But that first apres-camping shower or bath makes it all worth it.
And there's nothing like cooking and eating a meal over a campfire....really outstanding.
The flora and fauna re really amazing, too. Communing with nature...excellent.
If you ever make it to Washington, you should come camping with us, as we get really into it. But we do try to make it as fun and cushy as you can get for living in a tent under the trees fer a few days. I'm getting older and have a cranky body that needs a little TLC, but it can still do the outdoorsy thing okay.
Hey....this invite is open to anyone, too, ya know! Come to Washington and go camping with the Dorky Girls!
I have had oinions in tinfoil thron into a fire before though...those are soooo yummy..and I've slept in the woods under the stars...but it was in camp so it's not the same lol
You know....I think an LJ camping trip would be a fine idea! We should figure something out for next year. I think the weather here may be too nasty in a few weeks for most people. We aren't fairweather campers, but it could be very miserable for a lot of folks.
I'm so jealous! I love camping. Its gotten a bit chilly around here at night to go camping though or I would totally drag Flynn out for the weekend. (If i could manage to get a whole weekend off for once *rolls eyes* )
We got the mugs at Wal-Mart too, but I've seen similar ones at surplus and outdoor stores. I love our matching camp dish sets! Those plates were awesome, more like shallow bowls than plates. :)
