LOL. Kagura was at least fun to watch though, and I could see where they could have taken him in interesting directions. Amata just had no redeeming points whatsoever. -_-
Iroh is blatant fanservice. I wish they'd pushed him to the second season if they were going to include him at all. I think biggest problem with Korra was that they were not really sure whose story they were telling -- ostensibly it's Korra's story, but the driving force really ends up being Tarrlok/Amon, and elsewhere there's just too much stuff going on at once (and perhaps too many nods to the previous series). It frustrates me that they didn't do anything interesting with Mako/Bolin when it should have been really, really easy to.

what a waste of a budget for such a useless show.
and Korra is annoying me too for having terrible young male characters. Iroh is annoying.
