Yesterday I was helping to teach at an acute care day and one of the baby medical students suggested that a lung biopsy might be a good way to check for a chest infection. The surgeon asking the questions laughed loudly and heartlessly and I found it slightly cheering to see how far we final years have come.

Well, we've all had our moments of intense medical stupidity, so I felt for her rather than laughing... but all the same, it was pretty funny.

I certainly wouldn't trust any doctor I didn't know as far as I could throw them :)
