I heard about the no basic accounts option somewhere. (I don't remember where though.)

When I first created my journal two years ago, I had a Basic Account. I didn't like ads that much but oddly enough I switched to a Plus Account for that 15 icon space.

I'm used to the ads so I don't mind it. However there will be Basic Account users who would be upset. It sucks that there will be no option to have no ads but I guess Livejournal will need money to profit somehow.

Let's see what will happen. If this option works, it works but if it doesn't, it doesn't.

I did the exact same thing. Started as a Basic, upgraded to Plus just for the icons. (I hear InsaneJournal has more icon space than LJ... tempting, if you ask me.) And yeah, you get used to the adds after a while, but that doesn't stop them from being ugly.

Hey, if people stayed here after the freaking strikethrough I don't see why they shouldn't stay now. That was way more outrageous than this.
