Barack Obama is 47. I'm proud that I was able to vote for him not only for president, but four years ago for the U.S. Senate when I was still voting in Illinois. He riveted the Democratic National Convention then and caught the attention of the country. What I like the most about him is that when he was a freshly minted Harvard graduate, he refused the high salary job offers showering him in order to go back and work in the community. He's SMART - and an excellent speaker. I believe he truly wants to work to change this country. I was actually impressed that he'd mentioned sitting down with "the enemy" to talk (i.e. Iran, North Korea). Most of America's world image has been severely damaged because of our arrogant "us vs. them" and "the enemy" mentality. I HATE that way of thinking.

seirously, I watched the primaries, debates, read the Time articles every week.

Obama, though a newbie at foreign relations, has Joe Biden as his backup who has tons of foreign policy experience. Obama is fairly well recieved throughout the world. Europe adores him, so does Israel. People in Africa love him 'cause he's Kenyan.

He is not a slave to the military nor will he become one. Great Article here And his advisors are generally people who he knew from the early days. I think he's strong enough to stand against them. I mean he's one of the youngest presidents and black. But you shouldn't focus on the racial thing too much because he really won the race thanks to the plunging economy.

WHy do you say that? I think if he's able to make it this far, without using dirty politics and sticking to his goal throughout two years of arduous campaigning, why would he become a slave to Joe Biden?
