It's a great minor character-PoV fic, and brings Dumbledore's history beautifully to life--but from a different perspective. The opening intrigues you from the start, wondering what the author has up his sleeve, and he brings it round beautifully at the end. I thought Elphias's narrative here had a good balance of overshadowed sidekick and loyal friend. snorkackcatcher did a great job of offering what Dumbledore's flair and mannerisms might have looked like through Elphias's eyes, while keeping him perfectly in-character.
