I know! But if you can just get past that first section (and I did out of morbid curiosity, I think) the fic just blows you away.

I actually read this some time back and I'm so certain I was meaning to rec it earlier, only my write-up for it must have got lost during my computer crash. When I happened across it again I was like I remember this - wait, why isn't it on my rec list? MUST RECTIFY THAT. :P
