seems like a good novel would take more than a month. you shouldn't feel bad if you need more time.

Oh yeah, definitely--the goal isn't really to be done and dusted in the month, just having a first draft out. Or, strictly, it's just 50K words, which given my long-windedness, isn't turning out to be that much of an issue. Getting to the point where I can close off a scene/chapter/fic is a different story, though, so that's why I've set it as my subgoal.
