Sailing Thing #57: Gasket repair (Thing that kinda sucks about sailing 7)

The gasket is quite simply a piece of plastic, slit in half, that forms a sort of overlapped opening for the centreboard in a 470 (and several other centreboard dinghies) to slide in and out of the boat. This sounds awful. I hate cleaning sticky stuff. The stuff I usually have to clean (stickers off books) are nowhere near as bad as this sounds though!

It's funny - sometimes it's easier depending on which glue was used and which solvent we have to clean it. Acetone is the best, but we've also had to work with thinner and turpentine when the former isn't available.
