All right, it's done. What I've spent basically every iota of spare time on in the past few weeks is Cave Story, the best game I have ever translated. If you like Metroid or new-school Castlevania or Monster World IV or any game where you jump around, talk to bunnies, and shoot everything in sight, you so totally need to play through this miraculous full-length freeware game now.
