I hate that they've had those endings for both Han and Luke, and I really am only, like, making it work in my head by considering them shiny expensive fanfic, I guess. :/ Like I really deeply enjoy a LOT of them but every now and then there's a bit that makes my whole self want to revolt because noooooo.
I think the worst part with Luke was, like, I spent the whole movie semi hysterically repeating in my head that viral tweet that was something like "so help me god if I have to see Luke Skywalker die with my own eyes" and I was braced for it, right up until Luke sort of relaxed and so did I bc I was like "omg, it didn't happen, yay---" and then at that exact moment he went all Obi Wan dissolving into the Force and I was like "OH GOD FUCKING DAMMIT" :(
Yeah, I was fucking ready to riot had they done anything to her or Finn, like. We would have been d o n e.

I felt resigned to Luke dying, then they got my hopes up that they might subvert the whole Campbellian inevitable death of the mentor, but no :(
If Rose had died, I think I would have burned down the cinema.
