I got so angry when I read the text article that I actually clicked the "send us your thoughts" link and let them have it. Idiots. Having just written 8 pages in 2 hours, those kids can SUCK IT UP and write it just like we did. In the snow. Uphill both motherfucking ways. Grr.

But, honestly, the thing I have never understood? Txt-speak only saves characters, it doesn't save any time at all in terms of actually crafting a sentence/writing, because you have to put things into a form which, frankly, does not flow that well. Okay, I concede that if people use it a lot then probably they can 'think' in it, but I don't think it's any harder to just write all the damn letters. *grumbles about the irritating minority among the Yoof*
