Okay. I need to start getting my shit together in the worst possible way. Please do look to see if any of this is applicable to any of you - this is not just fandom related/not just media fandom, respectively, okay? And I know I don't have a leg to stand on, given the, um, eighthundredandtwenty unanswered comments I have outstanding at the moment ( Read more... )

us, get together, hawaii, travel, u2, escapade, whole new thing, ckr, u2 auckland, la, connexions, cons

Yay! You saw Whole New Thing! *heart* Isn't Amnon Buchbinder a cutie? I got him to autograph his book on screenwriting when _divya_ and I saw him in San Francisco.

I think my very favorite thing about seeing it at the LGBT Film Festival was that scene where Callum walked out in his leather jacket and Di and I went *rrowrr* and almost at the same instant the three gay guys sitting right in front of us went *rrowrr*. :-D

As for US slash cons, there's also bascon which is held in San Francisco in early November every year, generally with anywhere from 100 to 200 slashers in attendance. I'll be there, at any rate, and I'm working on _divya_ and bonspiel. /cryptic

He was ADORABLE. I saw him lurking on the side of the aisle and got instantly suspicious because he just, um, stereotypically looked like he was in movies? I dunno. But he was really good in the Q+A and I love what he did with the movie. (And that he got his SONS to write the book and they came up with a few of the lines for the movie and one was in the classroom scenes! seriously, that makes me love it even more.)

And, HEEEEEEEEEE. That is AWESOME. *thumbs UP*

And, ooh. Eeenteresting. I hadn't heard of that one before. I definitely can't make it this year (too much Irish stalking- er, I mean music related stuff on) but... hrrrrrm.

But, yeah, would really love to meet you at some point, so I will definitely bear that one in mind, too.

Yay I get to see whole new thing on the 8th of August at the festival here. It is one of the millions *coughtwentycough* of movies i pre-booked so I can gaze happily at my guaranteed ticketing.

Absolutely no rush on my email, it was more a tidying out of 'things i need to check' in diary list. Would be eternally grateful for the saturday GA. send me an email with your spiffy bank number sometime and i deposit da cash.

Courtesy of Air New 'yes we held your money in credit but now jump through all our rules and hoops monkey' Zealand I will be in Auckland from the 22nd for bloody ages, well 10 days but you know. I'm gonna do some research on my-non U2 days though and am hoping the department will pay for my accommodation.

So far I've been to 5 movies in 3 days and not hit one dud so i'm sure I'll love Whole New Thing. Although the free trade coffee movie yesterday was really depressing.

That's totally cool about waiting to see if its someone ticket, very important! Let me know next weekend or something

Yay free music money, good spotting :)

Wow, that is most impressive. And, urk, I can kinda see how that oculd be, indeed.

Thank you kindly, and yes, will let you know asap, for sure.

Yeah! I think it will have to go to the Shihad DVD which I, shame, do not own yet.

1. I'd like to get the train. I think I have enough leave accrued to go down Thursday, though of course if you can't get time off, I could train and you could fly, and I'm sure Mum will be happy to have us.

2. I think 'January' was the third... oh, I can't remember the word either.

I really really want to get the train myself, so I will Talk to Work this week and see how t hings look. But we (okay, *I*, and the special price finishes on the Saturday for the trains) have to fly back (sorry) because I can't afford two travelling days off work with Nov and Hawaii as well...

January! Yes! Thank you!! And I'm wondering now if he just said "things", or something like that?

"We knew from the start we had three [he said a word like "limits" but more positive sounding] to work with - Halifax, [something I forget], and one million Canadian dollars."

It had to be done by the end of January, I think, because of budgets and the financial year. After that, they were going to lose all their funding.

(I asked a question, and it wasn't even, "So what's Callum like????" *wins*)

Yeah, that was it, for sure.

(Dude! You do win! What was your question, then? :D And, wasn't it lovely? Or, at least, I really really enjoyed it.)

Alice and her two older sisters are still coming up (and would really appreciate some floor!) on the Wednesday or Thursday. They're sweet for tickets though. :D

Come on! Toss in some incentives! People have lost the tour momentum!

I will re-double check that with the parents, but I'm sure it will be fine (providing dad does not actually go ahead with trying to turn it into a new workshop in the meantime, heh).

...something tells me you're quoting somewhere I'm a bit afraid to go look at the moment. ;)

Toughest decision: Dress as MacPhisto one last time or not.
