I quite enjoy the post!spam actually. maybe it's cause I have little Real Life (TM) but I like it cause it's kind of like my friends are really *here*, you know? I mean, if/when we were all hanging out in one room there's always lots of pointless conversation that is often the *best part* of being friends. so for me, "pointless" posts are just an extention of that.

Yeah, see that's where I come from as well - I like a nice active flist because it gives me lots to read (except, of course, if I'm stuck for time at which point I may meep loudly but I'll still enjoy reading it eventually) but I am very conscious that sometimes people might be a bit "omg stfu!" or what have you. But yes, you make an excellent point there about the 'pointless conversation' part of things, I hadn't thought of that one.

Exactly, yeah. it can be overwhelming to keep up when real life intrudes (flashes back to MS and being at skip150 and going "wtf, how did I get this behind in a *day and a half*?"), but it's a *good* overwhelming.
