She bit her lip, fiddling with the grass as she murmured, "We're... Well... We're not really supposed to exist, Roxas." And oh, that had sounded so horrible. She winced visibly, as though physically hurt by what she'd just said, and stammered out, "I-I'm sorry."

And Roxas, he looked as though he'd been slapped right across the face. "W-what...?" he said, sounding rather dumbfounded. What was he supposed to say to something like that? You didn't say that sort of thing to a person you'd only just met!

There was a minute of silence that passed between them as Roxas sat there, looking completely stunned.

His brain was going a mile a minute, and it took all of his willpower not to start laughing. It sounded ridiculous! Not supposed to exist? Well, then what was he doing, sitting there with Naminé, if he 'wasn't supposed to exist'?

"How could you say such a thing?" and it probably sounded more accusatory than he meant it to, but he couldn't help himself. It was a statement that was so out of left-field that he couldn't even comprehend its meaning. This was even more of a shock than seeing himself, from another universe, or whatever the hell that Meredith Sault was going on about

Naminé dropped her head, murmuring a rather pathetic apology. "We're Nobodies, Roxas. When a heart is consumed by darkness, a Heartless is born. The body and soul left behind are called Nobodies." She paused, wondering how she'd forgotten everything she'd said when she'd ran through this conversation in her mind. "You see... We call the hearts we were born from our 'Others'. Sora is your Other. Kairi is mine."

"Uh... okay...," Roxas said, but it was obvious that what Naminé told him made absolutely no sense. It was ridiculous. And he was supposed to believe her, why? Simply because she claimed she knew him, and because she knew exactly what he was dreaming about? (Actually, that was a pretty good reason, because no one else had any idea.)

He looked away once more, over the side of the hill, to watch the sunset again. "Why did you tell me this? I... I was fine," the boy spoke again after another long pause. He'd been fine the way he was living, he was happy, and hearing something like this... well, it wasn't like he could just wake up and forget about what Naminé said

And that was another thing. That Twilight Town business. "I'm sorry, Roxas. But it's not fair to leave you in the dark. It's your right to know. And..." She hesitated, then glanced up at him, looking for all intents and purposes as though she was afraid he'd hit her. "This isn't the real Twilight Town. Hayner, Pence, Olette... They're not real. Well, they are, but..."

The girl took in a deep breath and murmured, "It's a simulation. There is a real Twilight Town, but... But you're not a part of it. I'm so sorry, Roxas."
