To truly follow in his footsteps, knowing he as the Son of Man is our example, we must walk in love and power as he did, and collectively minister to the world as he did. Don't you think the intensity of that kind of life is a bit much for most people? Maybe ALL people? Like being sound asleep in the pitch dark then someone turns on a giant stadium light seven inches from your face!

No, I don't think that. Didn't you read the article :-). I believe in being fervent (even white hot) in spirit. And I know for sure that all things are possible with God, so I don't limit his capability in people's lives.

With your last statement in mind, you may think I meant that a new believer should immediately live just like Jesus, in that amplitude of power and love. Wrong. Growing in Messiah is a process that takes time and effort. The article is about what our GOAL is - the end toward which we are racing. Some set the wrong goal - we believe in having the scriptural goal.

You are free to choose your own. As for me and my house, or goal is Messiah, perfect and complete, in us, and we formed in his image, doing his works. That hasn't happened, and we aren't done running our race. But we sure aren't going to decide to set our goal short of that high calling laid before us by the Word of God.

I'm not talking about the white-hot being US; it's HIM! When He shows himself, it's way more than people can handle I think. I know that all I saw was - to go back to the stadium light as an example - me the size of a bug in the corner and he pulled back the smallest corner where I was and I'm surprised I'm not dead. INTENSE IMMENSE WAY, WAY TOO MUCH FOR ME. I just hadn't known.
I can so easily understand why we "see as through a glass, darkly".

Exactly; and if that white-hot one is in us, and we are obeying his lead, our lives on earth will reflect this. So, the question is this; is that one in and living through you evidently in love and power? If not at all or not much, consider letting go of false humility and religious thinking, and seek, praying always as Scripture says, to be full of God's love and power.

We do know in part etc., but you are not a bug. No sir! The work of God done for you is better than that, and you are designed to become his very image and likeness, with Jesus the eldest of many brethren. May the Holy Spirit take you from pitiful to powerful in the power of his might, for God's glory.
