2009, a year of writing

Jan 02, 2010 00:15

This time last year, I posted a list of writing projects I hoped to complete. http://shieldhaven.livejournal.com/113830.html

The Compleat Core Rules of Dust to Dust did not get written. We did, however, make a huge amount of progress. I am satisfied with the amount of this that got done, and its current status.
In Fair Marath Suvla, Where We Lay Our Scene did not get finished. It did, however, experience huge amounts of growth and progress. Again, I am satisfied with how this is going.
How lostshaman Lost His Hair: A Just So Story did not get written. It's probably for the best. This was really only funny or interesting in my head.
The story about Tova and Silent grew by five updates in the past year. Honestly, I should have done more. I like this story and where it's going, and it's helping me recognize some weak points in my own writing ability.
The project for Goodman Games got finished. A second project for Goodman Games was also finished. A third and fourth project are currently underway, though now a little behind schedule. I am, however, happy to continue freelance work.
How I Lost (Number Redacted) Pounds: I fail. Utterly.
At least three other short fiction pieces: This didn't happen at all.
Blood of Barsaive: the Adventures of Sol Invictus. We stopped playing, and I never caught up in the campaign journal.

For the coming year:
1. Dust to Dust: The Compleat Core Rules. This is the year in which this will be completed and tested.
2. Dust to Dust: Setting Foo. This is the year in which this will be completed, and in which much of it will be released.
2b. Miscellaneous materials for DtD.
3. Tova and Silent. There will be more of this; ideally more than five more updates, but I'm not in a position to promise much.
4. Shieldhaven Wiki (http://shieldhaven.pbworks.com) will get up-to-date for my D&D campaign. I like having a mostly-working campaign journal, and I enjoy the games more when the journal is up to date.
5. I would still like to be able to write about losing weight, of course. We'll see how that works out.
6. Goodman Games Projects: I want to complete the ones on my plate, get paid, and get more projects.
7. It would be great to write more short fiction, but I'm not going to lie to myself about the likelihood of this happening. Work eats up most of my drive here, and all of the other items on this list are of distinctly higher priority.
