I know I said I wasn't posting anymore, but LJ is a good way to get out mass messages. Does anyone have an extra size 11 knitting needle? Somehow ONE of mine is missing and I need TWO to start my next knitting project. Call my cell or leave a comment here. I'll owe you a cookie ( Read more... )

Why aren't you posting anymore?

I was about to say, I do not have a extra size 11 knitting needle. But, I assure you that if I did, it would undoubtedly be lodged into someone's neck. That's a usual place for a knitting needle to be in my world.

yeah, you never explained why you're anti-LJ...

and no, you can't buy needles singularly, except circular needles which technically are 1 long needle but function as 2. All other needles come in pairs or in groups of 5-6.

I just wrote a post explaining.

Also, it seems weird that you can by them in groups of 5 (which leaves an odd needle) but not in packs of 1. I seem to frequently misplace ONE needle, which is just irritating. Both Ken and the thirty billion cats think they are toys.

Also, I think I need a knitting icon.

actually, a 5-pack makes sense--generally when you use double-point needles to make small round things like socks you have 4 needles holding the stitches and 1 that is the empty one you're knitting on to. I use all 5 needles when I make socks at least.

Ah ha - I have never knitted socks. I wasn't aware it took that many needles. Awesome. Thanks for explaining. :)
