The timing here is brilliant. --laughs-- metamorcy1 posted an entry offering a doujinshi, which I jumped at because I have only one doujinshi at the moment, and it was a Valentine's present from my other half, when I realised I was eighteen chapters in to re-reading one of metamorcy1's KHR fics. --snicker-- Oh the faceplant I did. --grin--
Still, it was absolutely amazing timing because 'The Forgotten Time' is one of my all-time favourite KHR fanfics. It has everything I adore in it. There's time-travel, confusion, a superb plot, the characterisations are perfectly rendered and the story, oh the story, it's written so damn beautifully!
I adore Tsuna in this story, not just because he's my favourite character, but because there's visible, tangible growth, not just in regards to his character, but to his mind and to his actions. He matures over the course of this story, and it's delightful to see and experience alongside him.
Reborn and Verde and Skull make multiple appearances, and I adore metamorcy1's way of writing them because she's amazing at showing us their emotions and characters without drowning us in prose. I have a very special fondness for all three of these characters, but I rarely get to experience them so well written and so in character and so...utterly them.
I could rave all day about this fic, but you're better off having a gander for yourself.

As you've probably gathered, I am very particular about the fics I like, read and re-read. I have to be mentally and emotionally stimulated, and if I ever, ever get even slightly bored with a story, then it won't make this list. I'm incredibly lucky to have found 'The Forgotten Time' because there are so few well-written, long, interesting and amazing fics like this one in the KHR fandom covering the characters I adore and love.
