Hello, I'm just a random lj-er reading writters block just here to say that I too would have loved to be around in Henry VIII's reign.

Good choice :)

Thank you for commenting! I'm fascinated by Henry and his court, he is always on my "dinner guest" lists! Whats the one question you would ask him if you could? For me it would be; with hindsight, does he regret not treating Elizabeth (and Mary) better and would he have enjoyed the remainder of his reign better if he had given up his quest to conceive a male heir and trusted his legacy to his daughters?

Ohh that's a hard question. I think it would have to be what was his biggest regret? (After he had seen the reigns of his children). At the time of his reign he saw himself as God's chosen representative on Earth and of course many of his court would praise his desicions whether they agreed or not. Whilst there is evidence (as with much of history it's still up for debate) of him regretting Anne and Moors deaths for most of his reign he believed he was doing the right thing in God's eyes ( ... )

I agree that he definitely thought he was doing the right thing with regards to most of his actions, I think, sometimes, we hold him up to the standards of today and not of the time and cirumstances he was in.

I would also love to know what he thought of his children's reigns. I bet he would have been proud of Elizabeth.

It would be interesting to see what he would have changed and I agree, it probably would have been personal relationships. Don't apologise for rambling, rambling is good!
