Once more, Ariel had been out on an outcropping, early in the morning when she figured no one would realize she was gone or come looking for her, sighing longingly at the shoreline. Rinoa was on her way to the picnic (Picnic!! Exciting!!) except she'd decided to take a walk around the island, first, because she'd woken up early from how excited she was, which was really rare for her because normally she loved her sleep, and --

ARIEL!

Rinoa was now totally running over to tacklehug her BFF.

"There you are!" she said. "You just left and radio said you had to go home! I was so worried!"

Ariel was so intent on going to the picnic that she was completely unprepared for a tacklehugging BFF. Not that it wasn't a bad surprise, though, of course.

"Rinoa!" she called out happily. "Oh my gosh, now I don't have to find you later! Guess what!"

"I tried calling!" Rinoa said. "And texting but it didn't go through and I thought you'd left without saying good-bye! Your dad made you go? Dads are such jerks!"

"I broke my phone!" Ariel explained, although, really, it had just been waterlogged beyond redemption. It was important to get than in before she cheerfully confirmed, "And I can! I got my voice back! Isn't that fantastic? And I'm sorry for disappearing. Daddy's not too bad, but, yeah, it was sort of...let's just say I kind of got into some trouble,but it's okay now! He decided not to ground me," in the ocean forever, "after all."
