I'm supposed to get a package this week asking what stores I'm willing to transfer to and how many shifts I want. Aiming for the downtown stores and willing to go as low as 3 shifts a week if necessary

It seems to me that this is an excellent opportunity to consider if there's another job you'd like to try. You have been a very dedicated employee for them, but now you can leave if you want to.
Not a hope in hell that I'll be looking elsewhere unless it's absolutely necessary. As far as I'm concerned, dedicated employees don't cut and run when the going gets tough. I like what I do.
It's not a job for everyone, that's for sure. I remember hearing a comedienne once say that it only takes 5 minutes of working with the general public to make you hate people. :)
In the past week I've had customers offer to help with a job hunt if I need it, offer to be references, thank me for doing my job well, and shake my hand and wish me luck. Those people are the reason I love my job.
I'm a firm believer that things work out the way they are meant to be. Not to say I'm going to sit back and wait to see what happens, I'll be plugging for a good trsnsfer. :)
Good luck on the job front--and enjoy Vegas! I was there for the first time last summer and it was a blast--of fun and heat. Hope it won't be miserably hot for you.
I remember reading about your Vegas visit, you recommended the restaurant - Rosemary's. We're not going to make it there this trip. We've got such a list of places to eat that we're at a loss as to how to fit them all in. :) I know it will be hot, it was last year in June when we went. I anticipate it being the same and plan on carrying water around everywhere I go.
Btw, our store goes clearance as of tomorrow. We've got some Twilight merchandise kicking around on the shelves. Any interest in anything? Not sure what's left - Edward and Jacob figures, socks, water bottles. Would have to look and see what else is there. It's all 50% off now and I think it goes to 30% off that tomorrow.

Will see what else is there when I go in tomorrow. I think the figures were already down to $10 (from $20) and it's 30% off that.
