Christmas is coming?

Apparently so, since we're resetting the store for the holidays. Lots of work. I put in close to 11 hours yesterday, I think. I know my manager said he was staying late. Considering the buses, he probably worked until around 4 this morning - a 15 hour day. Wonder how much was left for today's staff to do. Massive price changes are the worst part. ( Read more... )

A good backpack might be as good as a wheeled shopping bag if you have to pass through areas hostile to wheels.

A good backpack I can do, Andy has one of those. I think this box might be too big for a backpack, though. The last box they sent was wider and flatter than would fit. Guess I'll know when I get dressed and wander down there. :)

You know I'll help with the airfare if needed. I can write off getting you down here as a mental health expense.

Whose mental health are we working on here, mine or yours? :D

If I can book a flight for around $400 then I'll be fine covering it. If it ends up being a late arrival then I'll have been without dinner. You can take me to Mi Tierra for needed nourishment. Or have a chicken-fried steak and a Dr. Pepper waiting. ;)

ooh! You're coming down for the Holidays? Keep me up to date. I know we couldn't get together the last time you were here.

Coming down mid-March, actually. So far it's looking like I'll arrive late on the 17th and leave sometime on the 23rd. I'm sure we'll manage to get together this around. :)

Yay for books as gifts! I did my shopping for my sisters on Amazon.ca!

Books as gifts are awesome. My daughter's great at seeing how many books she can get from the bargain shelves at Chapters when she gets a gift card. She's better at it than I am. I get sidetracked by full price stuff that I want. :D

Where are the scheduled stops? As long as they're not in a HUGE airport like JFK or Atlanta, getting to your next flight on time shouldn't be too brutal.

I'd mainly be concerned about lost luggage. :-/

(And on the up side, you could read some of those books you've been buying while waiting for your next flight! ;-D)

Atlanta is one of the stops. Newark is the other. It's actually not bad, something like 2 hour stopovers in Atlanta, so lots of time to make connections. The ideal flight is 1 stop in Chicago. A lot of those have very little layover time, so late flights can be brutal.

I know enough to carry on my luggage. Last thing I want is to have to buy a new wardrobe on arrival. And the cost of replacing all the Lush product I travel with... don't want to contemplate that! :)

I never travel without a couple good books! An mp3 player and books - the necessities of travel.

Dude. I have Lush stuff here, and a store in town. No need to add to the weight by lugging your own down here.

It's not that much to lug, really. Just, oh, facewash, moisturiser, shampoo, conditioner, body wash... only 5-6 things. :) Do we use the same stuff? Granted, if I left it all at home it would be an excuse to visit Lush. Not that excuses are needed. Of course, then I'd have to drag it all back home again. :D
