1 week to go!

Fairly dancing with anticipation. I'm in such need of vacation. Being off sick for the better part of a week doesn't count. :)

Had a very nice dinner on Monday night at the Blue Cactus with loudmeggaphone, gmonkey42, logospilgrim and karen_jk. It was very nice to see everyone again. For those of you who so kindly asked, if I've done this right I will have created a PayPal button. :)

It was great seeing you again! I think the PayPal thing worked for me; I'll have to see if the charge goes through and if it doesn't then I'll try again. It just reloaded the same page when I clicked the button.

Nothing showed up on this end yet. I'll keep an eye as well. :)

maybe she just didn't think of the extra $100 because I'm not actually home yet, even though I will be home in March?

She didn't think of it, but I did mention it when she gave me the cheque. I said I thought it would go back up now that you're going to be home and she just said no.

I had similar problems a while back with my water bill; very frustrating! And don't get my started on the gas&electric company!

This is seriously hurting my vacation plans for this year.
I was supposed to look into New Orleans timeshares for you, and I haven't done it yet! Do you still think you might be going in May?

At least my gas company has me on equal billing. While it's annoying to pay the larger than usual bills in the summer for gas, I'm very appreciative with not getting hit with the really high ones in winter!

Yup, we're still going to New Orleans in May. Nyssa and I spent a fair amount of time online together last night, as a matter of fact, and perused many hotel and restaurant websites. I think we've managed to find a hotel that's decent, pretty darn reasonable and within a couple blocks of the French Quarter without veering into less safe areas. Seriously cheap, actually. Even better than the Best Western St. Christopher which had been recommended by someone who stayed there last time I was in N.O. I think we'll probably go ahead and book that one pretty soon (before prices change - they're below $75/night now!).

Granted, most of our time was probably spent on perusing menus and drooling on our respective keyboards. Aside from the zoo and aquarium, I wouldn't be surprised if all we did was eat while we're there. :D
