Back from the dead

At least, that's how it feels. Bad, bad cold, fever, now a cough that's settled in my chest. I don't feel like death warmed over anymore, though, and I guess that's a good think. As bad as Buckleys tastes, I'm pretty much at the point of sipping out of the bottle instead of dirtying all the teaspoons ( Read more... )

Someone mentioned in a previous LJ of your's tips for helping to make sure you don't suffer the ear pain. Would love for you to be able to fly more regularly then you could go to alot more stuff. :) *enabler...enabler* LOL

My problem with the ear pain isn't so easily solved, since it's the result of surgery, but I'm willing to give it a shot.

You know, the other thing that holds me back from flying is cost. This trip I could find a reasonably cheap airfare (as in, less than $500). It's when I start considering that I only make $11/hr and flights are often $800, that $250 bus fare begins looking very good. And saving $500 makes up for missing 2 shifts at work, which would be anywhere from 12 - 16 hours. So, yeah, it's often a money factor that makes me ride the bus. Granted, I have expressed interest in an upcoming promotion. If I get it I'll become a salaried employee w/paid vacation. That will make flying much more affordable. :D

Must go look for those travel tips. Thanks for the reminder!

You may be flying this time but airports are even better places than buses to meet and observe, erm, *interesting* people.

*sips cocoa*

Hee, and the *interesting* people met in airports could be travel companions for far less time than the ones met on buses. That can be a bonus. :D

I'm pretty free that week, from Sunday to Wednesday. I don't get out of work until 6pm though. So just let me know when and where you want to meet for dinner and I'll be there! :D

Oh yes, we'll figure it out as we get closer to the dates. Will definitely remember to take into consideration what time you finish work. I'm not picky about what time I eat anyway. We eat dinner around 10 p.m. here usually, 'cause that's when hubby gets home from work. Anything earlier is just plain weird when I'm at home. Yet on vacation, earlier dinners seen normal. Guess I'm just adaptable. :D

Just under 2 weeks until the trip, so will most likely feel up to par by then. If not, perhaps a vacation will cure me. :D

Coming home very late on the 11th. Will not be here when you get home, but will arrive soon after. What time do you get in? My flight arrives back just before midnight.
