Leverage--The Grave Danger Job and The Boiler Room Job

I should probably type up my reactions to the episodes while procrastinating from writing my Big Bang. They're going to be briefer than normal so I can get back to writing.

Anyway, now that Nate and Sophie have been outed, some Nate/Eliot/Sophie shipper needs to write an episode tag.

Working on it. :-) I swear - the look in Nate's eyes when Eliot burst in on them was *so* totally leaning that way: "Oh good - you're both here. Time to get nekkid." Tim Hutton was literally giving off *sparks*!

No, I still feel the same way you do about Parker/Hardison. I wouldn't mind it so much if they didn't feel compelled to remind me about it ALL THE TIME. I think that's why I don't mind Nate/Sophie as much. It's not shoved down my throat. I really hope they get the overt romance out of their systems this season and it fades into the background. I don't care if they're together, but like you said, it's taking the focus away from team-oriented stuff and away from Eliot. I still haven't gotten over the fact that The Carnival Job, which should have been the perfect episode, was marred by sending a gravely injured Eliot off while Parker and Hardison had their chat.

It would also be nice if they addressed the change to the team dynamic on-screen.

At the Nate/Eliot chat, I was commenting "Is Eliot still in this show?" I'll admit that they made me very very happy when they sent him out to the jungle, but before that, I was really getting pissed.

I was wondering if someone else felt that way (since I watched with delay again, no chat for me) - I was really wondering why there was no Eliot.

The thing is, The Carnival Job was heavy on Eliot, but still the pushed the relationship on us - like in the middle and at the end. So for the not Eliot fans there was still lots of time with the others. The Grave Danger Job is heavy on the relationship and all about Parker and Hardison (and why is he grifting so much?), so especially Eliot gets little time. And then The Boiler Room job he's almost not there. Earlier, Eliot did get to do some grifting at least, it seems that disappears now and they're taking physical stuff away from him as well and shove it onto the other characters (Parker's slide, now her and Nate's actions on the cemetery).

Yes, I know I'm bias, other people will see it differently.

Like jesco0307, I had some problems with the Grave Danger Job. The point was probably to have this really anxiety-ridden episode with Hardison in the coffin, but it seemed almost an afterthought. The con was so convoluted, there was no build-up of anxiety about Hardison at all just a lot of explanation of the con. And I agree that Eliot's fight in the cemetery...WTF. He didn't even attempt to engage the second bad guy? You can't tell me Eliot doesn't know how to fight two guys at once and keep them busy, and you can't tell me that Eliot can't put down a guy from the Mexican drug cartel really fast. The whole thing felt kinda disingenous. But I do love hugs ( ... )

Yeah, I hear you about Parker. The characterization is a bit back and forth. I think I've just come to accept it because they're obviously determined to go that way ( ... )

I can't get over the Parker thing, it's like a thorn in my side, lol. It makes it so that I wouldn't even know how to begin writing Parker. And I've said it before and I'll say it again, it all makes Parker look like a victim while the rest of the team look like people who are coping.

I would absolutely love if Eliot was hurt when they were off with their coupleyness, and totally agree about Hardison running off. At this point though, I don't think I'll hold my breath for that.

Oh dear, people who insist on 'canon', lol. I just like to make things up in my head and then post them to my LJ, it's not like I can't see that it's canon, I just don't like to think about it ;)

Sorry you're having a hard time, but at least the second one was fun. I may be looking through your icons, because the jungle one is too fun :)

After my big bangs are done and dusted, I'm planning to write--or continue writing, anyway--a fic that deals with Eliot's concerns about his place on the team. I started it after the episode where Nate dismissed him for disagreeing with him.

All I have to say is that if this season ends with Parker and Hardison in bed acting cute or with ANYONE pregrant, I'm going to scream and throw something, lol. I'm hoping the writers get it out of their system and let it fade into the background a bit. Right now, it's really overwhelming the story.

And feel free. I got it from ic0nfest, where you can prompt people to make any kind of icon for you. :D
