One thing I love about it is that it's a show set in the south where the southerners -- even the bad guys -- are often really damned smart. Even educated! Oofah. Yes pls.
I looked for it when I was at the store today, but they didn't have any. I'll probably check at Target this weekend. Mmmm... smart Southerners. I like!
I really like the show. The main character, Raylan, is a badass who manages to downgrade extremely dangerous situations by talking it out...well, sometimes. :-) The show is perfect at layering - you'll be listening to a perfectly innocent sounding conversation, but underneath it is this... tension, and you know that one wrong move, one wrong word, and the violence is going to be unmerciful. Raylan's not perfect, and he makes some bad decisions, and that makes the show even more interesting.
The show is based off of Elmore Leonard's novella "Fire In the Hole", although Raylan appears in a few other of Leonard's books. Elmore Leonard's an amazing writer, and I think I've learned a bit about building and sustaining tension in a scene from watching "Justified".
I have a blog written by Elmore Leonard about how he "found" Raylan; I don't know the link, but I have the actual blog in an e-mail. It's not very long but really well written. Let me know if you're interested in checking it out.

It is quite the good show. If it was available here, I'd likely be watching it. :)
