Snow Day rambles

Well, my day off has been pretty productive writing-wise--it's not like I can go anywhere, after all. I finally figured out what to do with the "Historical|: Victorian" prompt. It was one of the ones I was dreading, but I actually like the story. It's Angel: The Series, and I'll post it at some point this weekend ( Read more... )

Pretend I have amnesia, because apparently I do. Can you remind me what you're getting your PhD in? I've started focusing on grad schools (again) so it's on my mind. I promise I'll remember this time!

No worries. :) I'm studying History, specifically American Cultural and Social History.

Thank you! :)

I'm still debating between finishing my MPH or venturing into the new arena of social media/technology and communication. I'm going for the certificate in the latter to see if I'd enjoy it. My problem is I like learning many different things, so it makes it hard when I want to pin down my Masters subject.

Fortunately, we're just COLD (especially for us down here in Texas; we ain't used to teens and single digits!!) but no bad weather, so schools aren't closing for that.

What we ARE facing is rolling power blackouts as the electrical companies try to keep with up the demand. Being cursed with THE most incompetent state government in the history of state governments, we haven't had an upgrade to our grid system in forever, and the poor thing is groaning under the strain. It's so bad that Mexico has offered to give us some of their electricity. Not sure how that works, but I love it just for the irony factor.

Apparently the idiots in charge here are so in love with our frontier history that they're determined to take us back to it.
