Some random things

So I barely slept last night. I got home this afternoon and took an epic nap. Now, I'm awake and probably will be up for a while.

I've got most of my ideas down for au_bingo. The notable exception is Ancient Civilizations. I've got a decent idea, but it'll be like pulling teeth to finish it. I just don't care for the prompt. I think it's because I ( Read more... )

au_bingo has turned out to be very fun. There are some prompts that I don't particularly fancy, but some of the ideas I've come up with have surprised me.

My Disney AU is finished and full of crack. I just wasn't in the mood to try to tackle it seriously. I've also finished a Sport AU rec set, Leverage Steampunk and Dean at Woodstock. My High School one is up and is absolutely cracktastic - but what can you expect when you cross Leverage/Supernatural/Angel and then chuck them all in high school?

I love White Collar. My favorite character is Elizabeth. This is shocking because it is the first time I think I've ever liked a female character best. I've liked them, but usually they save all the awesomeness for the men. Not so with Elizabeth!

Neal is charming, and I'm always so impressed by how equal they've made him and Peter despite the sterotypes they could so easily fall into. The character development on that show is just awesome and I love it. And Mozzie is just a scene-stealer.

Yeah, some of my AU stories have really surprised me. Some of them I was sure were going to be pure crack. Once I started writing the Disney one, it actually became kind of a sweet love story.

Most of mine are sketched out, but Band and Disney are almost done. I've finally figured out what to do with Napoleonic Europe. It may not be my favorite story to write, but I think it'll work.

Clearly, I've caved and am trying to black it out. Once I figured out Napoleonic Europe and Major Historical Event Changed, I figured I had no real reason to not black it out.

I really love Elizabeth. I could see her becoming my favorite over time.

Dean at Woodstock should be fun. ;)

Napoleonic Europe is horrible. Idek. I know what I'm writing for it, but I'm not particularly inspired by it either.

I decided to black it out because my favorite prompts were all over the place, and I knew if I just went for a line bingo I might not go back and try them later.

Elizabeth gets more awesome. Every single time I think they might go for the cliche in regards to her and her relationship with Peter, they don't. It's brilliant, and her and Peter have the most honest, stable and healthy relationship on television. Most of the OT3 stuff is also because so many slashers in the fandom couldn't bring themselves to break up Peter and Elizabeth. THAT is how awesome she is.

Dean is at Woodstock with the Impala and meets Hippie!Cas.

I know the mods are planning to revise the prompts for next time. Hopefully Prehistory, Ancient Civilization, Feudal Japan, and Napoleonic Europe will be thrown out.

How Ancient is Ancient, I wonder. Because Richard was human until landing on the Island in...13th Century? I don't recall exactly...Stargate, with the immortal Go'aulds could work - maybe when Vala's body was being occupied by the Go'auld she might have visited Ancient Egypt.

Love White Collar. Love Neal and El and Peter and the Neal/Peter friendship and El/Peter relationship and the El/Neal developing friendship. And Diane is going to be back second season (I'm still watching the first season episodes I missed first time around) - I loved her in the Pilot (and Marsha Thomason herself in 'Las Vegas' and 'Lost' - even if I didn't trust her 'Lost'character!) and wondered why a canon non-heterosexual character of colour was replaced by the rather underused Cruz. Oh and I forgot June! She's awesome too, as is Mozzie - it's the ensemble characters that give an extra dimension to the show with their own POV and quirks.

Neither of those would work, because it has to be an AU. As in... let's pretend Richard was from Ancient Egypt. Or let's have Leverage in Rome.

I was wondering about Diane. I liked her in the pilot.

Apologies, of course it's an AU. I'm sure whatever you come up with will be great :D

The Richard idea is a good one. He could fit into many time periods with his being around for a long while.
