Has anyone here watched The Tudors? If so, do you recommend? Why or why not?

If you like period drams that aren't overly historically accurate with quite a bit of sex, then it is worth taking a look at.

Personally, I think that Rome was better written and more enjoyable.

I watched most of the first season - it's mindless fun, with lots of sex, intrigue, pretty actors/actresses and zero not much historical accuracy. It's entertaining but nothing to write home about IMO.

Having watched and LOVED Rome, I gave the Tudors a whole season and was bored to death. Good acting, inaccurate as hell and did I say boring?

Rome all the way if you haven't seen it. Stellar.

A lot of my friends love it but I love Tudor History and thought that show was mostly ridiculous. Season one was watchable but I had to quit at the start of Season 2.

I have to agree with those above who prefer Rome. The Tudors couldn't manage to hold my attention for an entire episode. Rome is more entertaining and is a beautiful series to watch.
