It says Team Anti-Hero is closed. :( And I don't want to be a sidekick, and I'm not sure I'm a such a hero either. I wouldn't mind being a villain if the word 'villain' were actually spelled correctly in the team name. *facepalm*

go the Anti Heroes :D Glad I got that, otherwise I think Villain would be fun....but it would be better if it was spelt right.

Update. Somehow or another got Team Anti-Hero since I put it out front with a strike through, even though they said it was closed.

While we are thinking of Anti-Heroes, I'm trying to determine within SG-1 if either Jack or Daniel constitute a breed of anti-hero. Jack seems fairly straightforward kind of All-American hero on the one hand, and yet he is actually rather rebellious and almost Han-like at times.

Daniel, on the other hand, has this weird turnabout between wide-eyed idealism and a kind of frightening cynicism, and it seems like that when Daniel gets his actually accomplishing things mode on that he's actually functioning more out of his cynicism than the way he would like to view reality. Also, he's just not typical (especially early on).

Teal'c fits into what TVTropes calls an Anti-Hero.

Sam's plenty awesome but she's just too goodhearted and ultimately kind for it, I think, not in any way intending to be sexist. She's not not one because she's a woman, just because she's... not.

Thoughts? :)

That's an intriguing question. Teal'c is definitely an anti-hero, as far as I'm concerned. Jack and Daniel do exhibit some traits of anti-heroes, but at the same time, I tend to think of Jack especially as a typical hero. For Daniel, I almost feel like we need an additional category to properly characterize him. Straight-up hero doesn't seem to work, but he's not quite an anti-hero, either. Hmm...

I did read someone who made a good point about Daniel, though. He DID shoot up a tank full of baby Goa'ulds that one time... Not the most heroic action.
