I don't have your temperment. When faced with a similar situation at my last place, I knocked on my neighbor's door and politely complained. No one should have thier peace and quiet in thier own place messed with by another. If my neighbor had not done anything, I had planned to complain to my sup.

It didn't go that far.

The problem is that they don't seem to be home. I think that's why the dog is barking. It's very frustrating. In any case, I'm keeping a record of exactly when the dog is barking, and if necessary, I'll go to the manager. Hopefully, I'll be able to catch the neighbors home.

This why I have a personl rule about owning a dog. I think you should own backyard for one, so when you leave the poor dear alone for long hours, it is not cooped in an apartment. It's only fair to the animal---and to people.

Agreed. I'd love a dog, but I'm not home enough for one, and I don't have the space for it.

I think these people are new arrivals. I don't want to be unreasonable, but they have to keep the mutt from barking.

do you have a noise law in your area? we have called animal control on our neighbors dog many times because they let it bark till 4 in the morning. also, if it gets to be a real problem talk to your neighbor directly, alot of times it really does help

If I can ever catch them at home--they aren't there now. I think the dog starts barking when they go out at night.
