If anyone watches Castle in a recent episode two environmentalists blew up an oil tanker with the captain inside. The captain lived but was severely injured and was burn-scarred and in a wheelchair. The captain's name was Pike. My inner (and outer) geek went "Squeeee".

The very ending was slightly more optimistic, I suppose. Still, it's sad :(

I liked the nod in the movie, but I also hope that Pike isn't in the wheelchair permanently!

I concur. I'd love to see him walking around and being all bad-ass and wise next movie.
