I remember reading this quite a while ago and really enjoyed it. You've captured both of them quite nicely and I like the format - switching back and forth between them in first person. It really works here.

Thanks! I revised it a bit. In particular, I changed the last few lines of dialogue to make it feel a bit less "cute."

Thanks so much for reposting this! I remember reading it a while back and thought it was a great read. You did a great job capturing that ease of bonding that Sam and Daniel returned to after he descended. And I liked how you delved into Sam's uncertainty and sadness surrounding the whole predicament. It did provide some closure.

Thanks! I always felt like Sam got the short end of the stick with regards to Daniel's Ascension. She was the most openly distraught by his loss, but she got the least amount of onscreen closure.

Same here. I noticed she seemed a bit surprised by Daniel's casual greeting in Full Circle too. I heard they filmed a scene where she asked why he didn't appear to her like he did to Jack and Teal'c, and Daniel said he didn't think she needed him. While I don't totally agree with that (would have been nice to see him appear to her in Metamorphosis) I think it would have at least tried to address what happened. Shame the scene never made it past the editing room.

I'd heard something about that scene, but I didn't know the specifics. It's a shame it didn't make it to the screen.

At least the writers did allow Sam to be the one who convinced Daniel to come home. That was a nice surprise.

Okay, I came here to read your S/D WIP, and then I read this too. Loved it! It's so Sam and Daniel, with the humor and the intimacy as friends, and the potential for more. It shows what I love best about them, that easy camaraderie and that bond. And there's so much to explore right after season 6, where Sam realizes Daniel visited Jack and Teal'c but not her. There's so little Sam/Daniel fic out there that I feel I have to encourage you STRONGLY to write more, more, more. ;)

The post-Ascension Sam/Daniel dynamic is a goldmine. I've been wanting to do something that riffs off of "Space Race," because their rapport in that episode was so incredibly perfect. I'm just not sure what way to go with it yet.
