Have you ever read "The Second Shift" by Arlie Russell Hochschild? It's an older book (although I think she's released an updated edition with follow-up data) but it really gives some good vocabulary to try to describe how frustrating it can be to account for all the things that take a lot of time, but don't have a structure that you can point to and say "see? from this time to this time I am working and cannot take on additional tasks." Since I know you are an avid reader like me, I don't hesitate to suggest another book for your reading list. :)
I think I've heard of this book, but never read it. I hope to get lots of reading done the next two weeks up here at my mother's. Even though I'll be working full time, that's only 8 hours. I'm not in charge of anything the rest of the time. I plan to get a lot of reading done, catch up on letters, and even watch a movie or too, and start watching Torchwood from the beginning. I'll check into getting it. Thanks for the recc.
