So I just watched the latest Dollhouse epp, and while I enjoyed it while I watched it, ultimately I think I'm feeling more disappointed than happy with things....:(
(Really, this means then that Topher figuring out how to make the tech work in 10 min in this epp has no bearing on the apocalypse, since he destroyed that and Boyd and obviously wasn't going to repeat it to anyone! But someone must have figured it out anyway....) Someone pointed out to me (and I'm starting to agree) though that there were a lot of ways it could have been spilled. Back up copies of the plans, back up copies of Boyd himself, scientists who weren't killed.
I suppose so, re: back-up copies and such, although tbh I actually forgot about this plot point (it's been 4 years already, good Lord!). Boyd made copies of himself? Forgot that too!
I do remember thinking the Boyd reveal was really stupid/probably something Joss Whedon came up with later rather than something in the plan all along. Like I think it might even have been a "we are getting canceled and have to wrap up quickly, why not make Boyd be the villain as a shortcut?" thing. *sigh* I disliked the idea of Claire/Boyd from 1x13, but the reveal made it even worse, that she died because she trusted the wrong person.
Oh, we never learn that Boyd made back up copies, I just meant that he could have done so.
Mmm, I was on the fence about the Boyd reveal. Honestly, thematically it made sense, but the way it was played out by the actor (and not by the script, tbh, I thought the script was ok) made it jarring.
And then I read this post and suddenly I liked the twist a lot. Lol.
OH GOD BOYD/CLAIRE MADE ME SO UNCOMFORTABLE. AND THEN I HATED IT.
