i'm glad you're doing great. and nice to know about the nonshowering thing.

i feel really bad about how separated the Ugandans must feel from you. like someone shouting at a guy that he'll get you dirty, that's insane. i guess i'm just not used to there being such a huge cultural separation, and people actually being afraid of approaching a white person... i just htink it's crazy. is it weird for you?

sometimes when i read your updates it just seems so surreal. like i dont even think its really happening or your really experiencing this. its just something i never thought someone could experience at 17. and your younger than me by like a month!! its crazy how this could have happened and we're learning a lot about africa in environmental right now and like everything your experienceing right now my environmental teacher experienced like maybe 5 years ago and hes like early thirtys maybe 29. but soak it all up and hopefully when you get back you can spread your knowledge to your totally ignorant friends. il be the first to admit we're ridiculously ignorant of how the rest of the world is living. i was thinking on friday about how we pay a dollar, maybe 1.50 for a bottle of water, when some villages in africa have to walk 10 miles to retrieve water from a well. and also i found out that $50 or $60 a day feeds a family of 6 in sudan and probably most other african countries for a month. an entire month. i cant add up how much my ( ... )
