Ooh. This is seriously satisfying - so gorgeously written (staring at empty space, waiting for someone to come home and fill it, Greg's epic sulking soak, and a ton of your other turns of phrase are awesome) and very neatly put together. The central misunderstanding grows so perfectly out of their characters - obviously Mycroft's going to take all the logical steps to prepare for the worst, and of course Greg's going to read it as a manifestation of Mycroft being, as he says, an important man. It works so well, and their reunion's so appropriate to them, subdued but heartfelt. I love this. <3

(And the conversation with John in the hospital is fantastic. You have a great touch for dark humor. :D)

Thanks so much! :D I like Greg and Mycroft; might have to play with them more often.

There were originally two prompts: One asked for one of the boys to be hurt on the job, the other asked for Lestrade living with Mycroft and starting to feel like he felt before his divorce. I put the two together and ran with it. :)

Also thank you for the dark humor appreciation -- I was concerned about that conversation!
