AHAHAHA of course that's his chair. OF COURSE. Duke Hotness has no furniture in his house; he'll start shopping at Ikea when they start stocking weaponry.

(Unrelated: as far as strategy board games go, Diplomacy > Risk. FACT!)

OK, I'll try to keep this brief: Diplomacy is like Risk but 10000x better. Diplomacy's also a game of military domination. In Diplomacy you're a pre-WWI European empire trying to take over all the other pre-WWI European empires.

But with Diplomacy there's no dice rolling AT ALL -- it's not based on chance, so you can't be like "Oh, I lost because I rolled a 4 that time". Diplomacy has like a bazillion rules and it takes forever to finish and I haven't played since high school, but I remember that you make secret alliances with the other players. Like "Heeeey Russia, come into the corner with me and we can plot how you can help me take over Trieste, and then later I'll help you take Silesia away from the Germans." Except then you screw over Russia and conveniently move your troops elsewhere when you were suppose to be backing their invasion.

I'm surprised I didn't lose friends by stabbing them in the back like that. But actually I'm not surprised, because that's what you're supposed to do, and I wasn't good at the game ( ... )
