Thursday
For the next twenty-eight hours, minus brief interludes of stolen slumber, John was caught up in the whirlwind of Sherlock's genius as the man connected each individual dot illustrating the story of a nine-year-old murder - and the theft of lyricist Oscar Hammerstein's handwritten notes that had precipitated it. In the process, John learned more than he had ever expected or wanted to know about Oklahoma! To be fair, his crash course had its unexpected bonuses. Sherlock grew increasingly drunk on adrenaline and satisfaction while cross-referencing old evidence and new research, and he began to litter his deadpan comments with lyrics, often leaving an amused John giggling like a schoolgirl

I'm de-anoning here to say it's finished! I noticed people are posting links in this overflow post, so I thought I'd go that route, rather than clutter things up with additional multiple posts.

Oh, I'm thrilled you think so! Thank you so much. I was very worried about them being too talkative, especially in the last scene (and even just with John's POV). So this makes me feel much better.

Ack!!!! The tension has me in a knot and you stopped there!
I love all the wonderful case details, the obsession with musicals, Lestrade's being married to his work being something that Sherlock feels he shares. Mycroft being his creepy, imposing self. Possessive!Sherlock poking up his head every time something (like his brother) might endanger John. Wonderful!

Thank you so much! I'm so glad this worked for you. It's super-helpful to know what you liked, so I really appreciate the details of your feedback. Awesome! And apologies for the temporary cliffhanger. ;)
