That’s right - those two. I just find them adorable in both incarnations, ASiP and the unaired pilot. I would love to see some history of their relationship. Bonus for a believable one-night stand situation. Just ‘cause. :-)

John goes to bed (in his own bedroom) one night with Sherlock sleeping next to him. He wakes up the next morning (still in his own bed) next to Sherlock and Jim.

Not sure if this was what you wanted, OP, especially with the ending slightly shaded grey. And any words or phrases you might recognize didn't come from this anon's brain, but from the writer of TGG.

Sleeping next to Sherlock had the unaccountable effect of calming John's nightmares

When i saw your pic i thought so cute. Then i thought they look so angry lol. So yea Mini fill ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~` "Sherlock What have you done?" John frowned at Sherlock waiting for him to answer.
"I haven't the slightest what you're talking about" "Haven't the slightest... Sherlock WHY are there Paper Hearts floating down around us everytime we get within 5 inches of each other."
"Thats preposterous"
John stepped closer and frowned when again out of nowhere a flurry of paper hearts fell around them.
"I'm waiting for an explanation"
"How the hell should I know John without facts I can't give you an exact reason."
~ElseWhere~
"Sir your Paper Hearts are being recieved as expected." Mycroft smiled as he looked over the suveillence photos of Sherlock and John glowering at each other with paper Hearts falling around them. "Excellent continue on until a relationship is started. Thank you Anthea" "Of course Sir and its Lillybeth today sir."
What might Lestrade's promotion mean for Sherlock? Mycroft wonders.

Reprompt: When Lestrade's offered a promotion (much bigger office, much less field work), Mycroft finds out and wonders what this will mean for Sherlock. After all, few DIs are willing to work with his baby brother, and even fewer know how to handle him.
What would Mycroft do to keep Lestrade where he is? Does Lestrade even want the promotion in the first place? Does Sherlock find out about the job offer? Your thoughts?

Ow. Mycroft subtly inhibiting Lestrade's career to keep Sherlock's status quo... quo.
The angst potential is epic if it's M/L. If it isn't, I doubt Mycroft would hesitate to tamper with a DI's career.
(Really, I suspect as long as Lestrade keeps allowing Sherlock into crime scenes, he'll never be promoted anyway. Sherlock may solve cases but his methods would be procedural hell in court.)
