It's Christmas Eve, and already dark outside. Sherlock curls up in Mycroft's second-best office armchair (the best, his brother insists, is reserved for the therapist when he finally arrives), tries to ignore the sickly neon lights flickering overhead, and thinks about suicide.

Not his own, specifically, though that's never off the menu. Rather, he's wondering why so many people believe in a rise in suicide attempts around the Christmas period despite all studies on the matter indicating otherwise, and why this bothers him so much. He's used to the general public (which includes everyone except John, Moriarty and, reluctantly, Mycroft) "knowing" all sorts of rubbish, which makes catching them when they turn to crime so much easier. But there isn't just a complacency around the existence of this particular urban myth - there's glee. A fierce schadenfreude that the glittering concentration of feasting and family and friends ( ... )

Right. The trick with the hidden cameras again. Sherlock wonders when Mycroft will tire of everyone thinking he's omniscient. He doesn't bother to answer the text, and makes a point not to look around the room for cameras as he retakes his seat (otherwise the next message will read Over here. MH. He does so love attention ( ... )

This is astoundingly exactly the scene I was watching this afternoon thinking...oooh, analysis. Analysis + Sherlock? Yes, must be done. AND THERE IT WAS.
