Sherlock gets drunk/high over failing at a case... pennies_4_eyes September 21 2010, 13:38:43 UTC
I'd like a fic where Sherlock isn't fast enough with the answer and the bad guy gets away. Doesn't matter WHICH badguy...could be Moriarty, could be some less incredible bad guy and Sherlock just wasn't handed the case soon enough to make a difference. He solves it, but the villain is already gone, or has already done the evil deed. (murder, theft, etc...)

Cue drunken or high as a kite Sherlock angst, and John being comforting/sobering Sherlock when he finds him. I DO love and prefer slash. But Gen is totally fine for this fill.

Please fill the prompt from the following random word table!

balm
stripe
bubble
drawer(s)
pleat
vasoline

You are nuts for some word tables aren't you? Lol! Seconded.

lol! Random word tables make it easy for me to write. I have NO idea why. So I generate them for myself to use. But I love prompting them as well.

Do Not be surprised to see one from me, every prompt. *grin*

Do you use something to generate the random word table? Because that sounds hella fun.

Do we have to use all of the random words?

LOL! If there's a word(s) in the list that is something you absolutely can't use...feel free to chuck it out. The fill is more important than getting all the words in there. The words are randomly generated because I work best when given something freeing and non associative to inspire my writing--like a word table. And so I throw one out there every prompt to other folks who may work the same way.

But you don't really have to use them all.

Researching for this reminded me yet again what a weird and wonderful place the internet is. Also I only used 5/6 words - couldn't quite get 'vasoline' in there!Glass is liquid held in ebb ( ... )

John began to talk sternly again, which was uninteresting, and he went away to rummage through some drawers for some things which would also probably be uninteresting. He was back long before Sherlock had tired of watching how his blood slowly walked across and then slid gently down around his forearm as he tilted it.

“Don’t,” John said sharply, spreading a clean towel across Sherlock’s knees and pushing the back of his hand down onto it. John’s hands were cold - they felt like balm where they touched.

Sherlock didn’t have the energy resist. It was too tiring, to be fighting against what his mind dragged up. John had said don’t dwell before leaving for work, and here he was, not dwelling. Fighting against it, in fact, because even after what he’d taken (and he still couldn’t be bothered to remember the name; it was irrelevant) all his thoughts were still there. All getting high did was enhance other stimuli, enable him to focus all of his attention for once on something as usually innocuous as the light on the window, and the rich ( ... )
