So I'm thinking that post-Reichenbach there have got to be some people out there who still think that Sherlock wasn't a fraud, I mean. It's a big world.
So, what I want is just this: A small comfort to John.
Maybe he sees someone defending Sherlock in an online forum, maybe someone stops him in the street to say they believe him, i don't know.
(Alternatively, it could be about the reactions and what the people who still believe in Sherlock do. Either way I want my heart warmed.)
Fill #2: 5 People Who Believed in Sherlock Holmes & Told John So... 3/6

Three - Kirsty
Kirsty struggles to make the writing even and make sure each of the tails come up at the right angle to join onto the next letters properly. She is proud of having got a gold star for her joined-up handwriting in class last week, and this is an important card for her to write. She has drawn a rabbit on the front and decorated it with glitter so that it’s a fairy rabbit.
She writes:
“Dear Doctor John Watson
I am sorry to hear that your friend Sherlock Holmes died. It is very sad but I am sure he is in heaven with all the good people like Albert Einstein and Marie Curie and Auntie Edna. Mummy said that he helped her find Bluebell again even though now she does not glow any more and has smaller ears. Mummy says that the news people are confused and he was not pretending and really was clever.
Lots of love Kirsty Stapleton (aged 8 1/4)”
She hopes that Doctor Watson will like the rabbit picture, and that it makes him feel better.

Thank you! :)
I'm glad that John came across well. I was trying to see him through the other people's eyes mostly, rather than focusing on his reaction to the people coming forward, so I'm relieved it worked!

Thank you! I think I'd been craving a fic like this, too, so when I read the prompt, I couldn't not write it! I always worry whether I'm getting the emotional balance right, so it's good to know you liked it so much.

Thank you, I'm so glad you liked it. I thoroughly enjoyed writing it! As soon as I read the prompt, I could just see Henry Knight's face in my mind, and couldn't imagine him believing that Sherlock was a fake...and then while I was trying to frame his narrative, I kept coming up with other characters who couldn't possibly be fooled by Moriarty's lies :)
