Post Reichenbach prompt anonymous January 16 2012, 15:17:05 UTC
Post Reichenbach ep fic please?

How does Sherlock reveal himself to John? Does he even reveal himself to John again? If he doesn't, what are his reasons? How is John coping? And how do Anderson, Sally and Lestrade deal with it if it's revealed Sherlock's still alive?

Whoever fills this wins the internet.

AHHH, author anon, so far this fic is everything I wanted from a post-Reichenbach fic and more. I love your voice, and your story, and the fact that John is taking a case. I'm figuratively on the edge of my seat.

So this is turning into a bit more than the prompt asked for. The reveal will obviously come, but I feel that we need validation before we get to it. Thus, vignettes from all the characters seem to be emerging. I hope this is okay, OP. Also, there weren't any pairings specified, and S/J is my OTP (how shocking)so that's sort of where this is headed. There may also be a bit of implied M/L because of reasons. If that's not okay with the OP I can omit it. Also, what are the OP's (and everyone else, I suppose) thoughts on sexual content? There wasn't an explicit request for it, but it's simmering in my plot bunnies and will most likely occur unless there is objection. I just want to make people happy! :D Now, without further ado, I give you more Molly!Molly Hooper feels like she is losing her mind, just a little ( ... )

Molly is understandably shocked when she returns from her lunch break that day to find John in her morgue.

Moments before, she’d been re-reading the last text she’d received from Sherlock, two days before (He didn’t show. S) and wondering if maybe something more than the obvious was wrong with John. Therefore, the sight of him leaning over a body that hadn’t been there when she left threw her for a loop. She reflexively shoved her mobile into the pocket of her lab coat.

“Hey, Molly,” said Lestrade. Molly hadn’t even noticed him standing next to John. John’s eyes flick up to meet hers.

It is strange to have his gaze on her again after so long avoiding it. The sight of those deep blue eyes makes her want to break down sobbing and tell him everything. Anything to make the gauntness in his cheeks and the hollowness of his expression go away.

Instead, she says: “Um, hi.”

John’s attention goes back to the body, and Molly breathes again.

Not the OP here, but I just wanted to say that A) I love the story thus far and B) that I like what you suggest is coming in future installments (S/J, M/L, character vignettes, sexual content, the whole nine yards!).

So, there is at least some support. Keep it up!! SOOOO GOOD.

“The murderer would have needed to be relatively close to him to know about the allergy. The victim didn’t wear an identification bracelet, or at least there wasn’t one with the clothes you showed me, so he either wasn’t terribly forthcoming about it, he wasn’t concerned about it or he thought everyone was aware. There is clear evidence of carpal tunnel in the right hand, though you said he worked as a gardener. That profession is not conducive to this sort of repetitive stress injury. What is conducive to it, however, is extensive time spent at a keyboard. If you check his browser history, I think you’ll find the victim spent most of his time online. This infers that his social life may have been lacking, and suggests an introverted personality. An introvert wouldn’t go around telling people about his peanut allergy ( ... )

That was great! Author!Anon, you're doing a wonderful job. Imo, the murder sounded plausible enough (but then, I don't know anything of the medical profession either haha).

I really like how Molly's watching out for John, I bet she'd even do that if she didn't know Sherlock was still alive. Same with Lestrade, it's good that they're keeping an eye out.

I'm really looking forward to the next part.

As for the question you had earlier, I am fine with S/J! I like how you said you want to write M/L for reasons, as usually some fics leave me a bit stumped as to how they actually got to meet properly before that case in S1 (and then to actually develop a relationship). And for the sexual content, if you've got plotbunnies, roll with it.

EEK, I love this, author anon. Everything that John deduced of the murder (Which was brilliant, by the way. Oh my God, John Watson with Sherlock Holmes' talents for observation? Did it just get like twenty degrees hotter on the meme?) seemed entirely plausible to me, as well as fully excellent. Yay, basically. I'm so glad John is being amazing, and that we are seeing the reactions of other characters too. Oh, Molly and Lestrade.

Also, in response to your previous questions: I am a fan of J/S (though typically of a more ace interpretation), and a casual fan of M/L, and basically I just still think this fill is awesome.
