After Reichenbach, let's face it, Lestrade's reputation at NSY is going to be in tatters. They're going to be taking apart every case he ever worked to see if he used Sherlock on it, and a lot of people are going to go free.

I want Sherlock to help him out a bit without revealing that he's still alive. So, Lestrade finds that clues turn up for his current cases, and things fall into place easier - sometimes people just give him their confessions. There are notes in files on the computer that are supposedly from his officers, except they don't remember putting them there.

Sherlock trying to put things right from 'beyond the grave'. Extra cookies if Sherlock uses Molly as a mouthpiece for his deductions.
