John Watson is in love. He's so in love. He knows they've only been together six months, but...he's pretty sure he's found the one. His boyfriend seems to agree -- he takes John out to dinner and pops the question. John says yes, of course. The two do home to celebrate, only to have John's now fiance get called to work. John's disappointed, but used to it. The troubles of dating an international consultant

I want to fill this...but I have never filled a prompt before, and I'm kind of Watsonish when it comes to the net, so can you tell in a really basic way, how to go about it? Do I just fill the parts as a reply to your prompt? Yes I'm actually that dumb, but your prompt is irresistible!

It's not dumb. You just haven't done it before. :-)
You can write right in the reply box if you want. Or you can write in a word doc and then copy-paste it when you're done. LJ comments have a limit of 4300 characters, which is why you see fills posted in multiple parts. If your story is long, you'll have to divide it up and post it in sections.

The low thrum of conversations in the room came to an abrupt stop. The beefy co-player spoke up loudly in the silence, “Aw, Billy, what the hell! I was winning this one.” The man didn’t seem to hear him, his eyes boring into every face. His voice was hard, “He’s here…Jerry… the bloody snoop that’s been plaguing ‘em over at Checkers

John didn’t move. Even as he stood there, he could think of two ways he could atleast try and overpower the man. But all he did was close his eyes in resignation. He had not planned on dying. But this was a much better alternative than killing himself, or attempting to live his life, or what passed for it now-a-days

Holmes led the way, running through the maze of alleyways, over another fire-escape and two rooftops, when they finally stopped to catch their breaths

Author!Anon, this was beautiful. Just...perfect. Very IC and I just...I don't have words. I am *so* happy you've decided to fill this. I just...I loved this idea and to see it as a story and a wonderfully written one to boot is just...fantastic.

I am mentally shrieking in excitement, anon! I love that you just took us straight into the action; reading the prompt, I'd expected scenes with Jim and John first, or John's initial entry into witness protection, but I like this approach so much more.

(Thank you… Thank you… Thank you so much for the amazing reviews… the encouragement is very much needed! Now I’m really scared, as all parts will not be equally racy; it’s going to be pretty angsty further on… a special thanks to the OP for making my day
