EPIC!

Seriously, I love the twist at the end here, with the fear that Moriarty would recruit John being a motivation for the mission. That was quite brilliant!

I really loved this, just so you know. It was fascinating to see the details changed around from the original fic, where they were so similar but not quite the same, and really the conversation between the two was wonderful. John and Mycroft were great in this; it felt so much more wary and distrustful, and there was the sense--hinted at--that John is just a tic away from being a Sebastian Moran. That was brilliant and it kind of makes me want to remix your remix, lol. Gah, so much fun! I thoroughly enjoyed reading this. Thank you so much for such a treat! :)

Yay! I tried to wind in and around your version, closer at points and then further away. I have too much fun writing Mycroft and John.

I'm glad the twist at the end worked for you. And of course, getting Sherlock actively opposed to Moriarty is highly advantageous.

And you picked up on how damaged John is, lovely. I'm working on a second remix, a 221b of Whisky John, that highlights that aspect.

You know what really inspired this set of remixes was your title - Operation Leopard. According to the Bible, Can an Ethiopian change his skin, or a leopard his spots? Then you who are trained to do evil will also be able to do good. And that sent my Muse down a very interesting path, indeed.

it kind of makes me want to remix your remix, lol
If you're inspired, please do! I ALWAYS encourage remixes, and the recursive nature of this makes it even more delightful than usual.

Thank you for offering up such a provocative story!

Now THAT is on a level that I believe from both Mycroft and Moriarty! This is the true way it must have gone down. ;) (I love a story that makes me feel like that.)

This is great, a wonderful re-examination of the original story. I love your version of Mycroft, deep and calculating and this version of John who is so competent but also damaged.

Thank you, cherrytide! I'm delighted that John's damaged nature came across clearly. Devious Mycroft is such fun to write.

Clever, and beautifully turned. I love that this follows the structure of the source story, and that John and Mycroft, to different purposes, sound so much like themselves.

Thank you, unovis! I envisaged nox's original story as laying down a series of signposts that I them slalomed my way past on the way to my own version of the truth.

I really liked the twist you put on the original story with this remix! The idea that Mycroft pushed John into the job because otherwise Moriarty would try to recruit him (especially with the reference to Moran!) was particularly brilliant and of course Mycroft would be thinking that far ahead :P

Mycroft's found himself playing a game of Go against a skilled opponent who's claiming, not territory, but trained personnel. Of course he's thinking several moves ahead!

Thanks, stepstostars, I'm glad you enjoyed it!
