When I saw the original fic title, I was really curious to see what a remix of it would look like and I'm very pleased that you haven't simply reversed the roles. While I absolutely adore the original and, let's be honest, shaving porn is hot hot hot, I wouldn't trade any amount of it for a remix like this.

I wasn't sure I liked it at first, but coming to the end of it, I'm very fond of the tone change. It's very brooding and sort of murky. It has a very ugly feel to it. Your prose is rich and beautiful, but it's the kind of beauty that doesn't look quite right. Like there's something off about it and even though it's only a little off-center, it's an incredibly unsettling shift. At points, it feels almost hateful, like the way that Greg and Sherlock come together is driven entirely by some kind of revulsion Sherlock has buried deep down inside of him.

This is quite good.
I've been having fun reading it from different angles and different combinations and interpretations. I like the cinematic feel to it, with Sherlock's lenslike views of his own reflections. It works wonderfully as a character and relationship remix, with motif licks from the original. I like Lestrade's weightiness. I like the splinter and the blood. I like this selfish, egoistic Sherlock and this addiction to Greg.

This isn't even one of my preferred pairings, but when the story is this darkly gorgeous it ceases to matter. Fantastic work!

They don't fit together well, and that's what makes this such an interesting, sharp story. Nice work.
