don't avoid out-of-state college so quickly. if you have the means, you should really consider it.

You'll do just fine in the car! You can't do any worse than the ones out here in Michigan. College is an important decision, look at the quality of the education as a priority, rather than a convenience.

I think it's best if you stay in an in-state college due to financial purposes.

Financial purposes don't matter. My parents address will be out of state, so going to a school in Texas is in-state tuision for them. Money isn't really the issue here.
